Harry Kane’s future at Bayern Munich is edging closer to being resolved, with the England captain reportedly nearing an agreement on a new contract with the German champions.
The 33-year-old’s current deal runs until the summer of 2027, but Bayern have been working to secure his long-term future in Munich. The latest reports indicate that negotiations have now reached their final stages, with both sides increasingly confident that an agreement can be completed.
Kane closing in on Bayern contract extension
Bayern and Kane have made significant progress during recent discussions, with the proposed agreement expected to keep the striker at the Allianz Arena until 2029.
The remaining negotiations are understood to concern the final details of the contract. A formal signing has not yet taken place, meaning the deal should still be described as close rather than officially completed.
Kane himself previously indicated that talks were progressing positively, saying in September that the two sides were getting close to reaching an agreement.
Bayern want their star striker to stay
Since arriving from Tottenham Hotspur in 2023, Kane has become the centrepiece of Bayern’s attack.
His goalscoring record has been remarkable, and the striker has consistently finished as one of the Bundesliga’s leading scorers. Bayern’s desire to keep him is therefore understandable, particularly with the club continuing to build around him under Vincent Kompany.
Bayern CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen had already made it clear earlier in the summer that both the club and Kane were keen to find common ground over a new contract.
Manchester United transfer hopes fading
Kane’s contract situation had attracted interest from clubs in England, with Manchester United previously linked with a potential move if he became available in 2027.
However, an agreement that keeps Kane in Germany until 2029 would effectively end those immediate hopes.
The England captain appears increasingly settled in Munich, while Bayern are determined to retain one of the most productive strikers in European football.
Kane’s Bayern chapter set to continue
Kane joined Bayern from Tottenham in a deal worth around €100 million in 2023 and has since established himself as one of the club’s most important players.
The proposed extension would give him several more years to pursue the major prize still missing from his Bayern career: the Champions League.
With the final details now being worked through, it appears increasingly likely that Kane’s future will remain in Bavaria rather than taking him back to the Premier League.
