Diomande subsequently made an impact, adding further attention to the debate surrounding Vinicius’ place in the team.

Calls for Vinicius to Spend Time on the Bench

Sports journalist Matias Prats argued on Radio Marca that Vinicius should experience a spell on the bench, suggesting that a period out of the starting lineup could serve as a wake-up call.

Prats also pointed toward Diomande as a player who deserves an opportunity after forcing his way into Mourinho’s plans. 

These are media opinions rather than an indication that Mourinho has decided to permanently remove Vinicius from his starting XI.
