Roma are already looking ahead to the January transfer window and could return to the market for Brazilian forward Endrick, with the Real Madrid youngster once again emerging as a potential target.

The Italian club explored the possibility of bringing Endrick to Serie A during the previous transfer window, but the move did not materialize. With the 19-year-old struggling for regular opportunities in Madrid, however, Roma could reopen discussions in January.

Endrick’s limited role could reopen the door

Endrick’s current situation at Real Madrid is central to Roma’s interest.

The Brazilian forward has found it difficult to establish himself in José Mourinho’s attacking plans this season. According to recent reports, he made only one brief appearance before the latest international break, while competition for places in the Madrid attack has restricted his opportunities.

That lack of playing time could make another loan move an attractive option for the player and Real Madrid, particularly if the situation does not change during the opening months of the campaign.

Endrick already experienced a loan spell away from Madrid last season, spending the second half of the campaign with Lyon. He made a significant contribution there, recording eight goals and eight assists during his time in France.

For Roma, the possibility of adding a young forward who has already demonstrated his ability to produce goals and assists makes Endrick an interesting option for the second half of the season.

Roma had already moved for Endrick

The interest is not new.

Roma reportedly came close to securing Endrick on loan during the summer transfer window. An agreement involving the player and Real Madrid had been discussed, but the move ultimately failed to go through after Mourinho pushed for the Brazilian to remain in his squad.

The situation could be different in January if Endrick continues to struggle for minutes.

Roma coach Gian Piero Gasperini is understood to view the forward as a player who could provide additional versatility and attacking depth. The Italian side are competing across multiple fronts this season and are already considering how to strengthen their squad when the winter market opens.

Luiz Henrique remains another option

Endrick is not the only Brazilian forward being monitored by Roma.

Luiz Henrique continues to feature on the club’s transfer shortlist after a proposed move from Zenit failed to materialize during the previous window.

Roma made attempts to sign the former Botafogo player, but the negotiations ultimately broke down. Reports indicate that the Italian club had reached an understanding with the player and Zenit before technical issues prevented the transfer from being completed.

The 25-year-old therefore remains a possible target for January, giving Roma another Brazilian attacking option to consider alongside Endrick.

Two different solutions for Gasperini

Endrick and Luiz Henrique would offer different profiles to Roma’s attack.

Endrick is younger and would likely represent a development-focused signing, potentially through another loan spell. His previous experience at Lyon also means he has already demonstrated that regular first-team football can bring an immediate impact.

Luiz Henrique, meanwhile, offers greater experience and could provide a more established option in the attacking department.

Roma’s plans could ultimately depend on how the squad performs during the opening months of the season and what opportunities become available when the January window opens.

For now, Endrick remains a player to watch. If his lack of playing time at Real Madrid continues, Roma could once again attempt to bring the Brazilian to Italy, while Luiz Henrique remains another name on the club’s radar.
