Erling Haaland has once again been linked with a move to Barcelona, with the Manchester City striker’s future becoming a major talking point amid the uncertainty surrounding the English club.

Reports from Spain and other European outlets suggest that Barcelona and Real Madrid are monitoring the situation ahead of 2027. The speculation has intensified because of the ongoing uncertainty around Manchester City’s financial case and the potential consequences it could have for the club. 

Why Barcelona are interested in Haaland

Barcelona’s interest in a world-class No. 9 is understandable given the club’s recent search for attacking reinforcements.

The Catalan club explored a deal for Julián Álvarez during the summer but did not manage to complete the transfer. Barcelona subsequently decided against making another major attacking addition in January unless an unexpected situation, such as a serious injury or significant departure, changes their plans.
