Zidane Confirms Bad News for Mbappé as Real Madrid Star Returns to Madrid

Kylian Mbappé’s first match under Zinedine Zidane ended with a worrying setback, as the Real Madrid forward was forced off with a knee injury during France’s Nations League clash with Türkiye.

Mbappé had given France the lead shortly after the second half began, scoring what proved to be the only goal of the game. However, his night quickly took a negative turn when he began experiencing pain in his left knee.

The French captain received medical attention after appearing to hurt his knee while scoring. He briefly attempted to continue, but the discomfort returned and he eventually signalled that he could not carry on.

Zidane replaced him in the 58th minute, with Désiré Doué coming on in his place. Mbappé left the pitch limping, raising immediate concerns about the severity of the injury.

Following France’s 1-0 victory, Zidane confirmed that Mbappé would leave the national-team camp and return to Madrid for further assessment.
