HARRY KANE MAKES HIS BARCELONA POSITION CLEAR AMID £57M TRANSFER LINKS

Harry Kane has left the door open to a potential move to Barcelona, though the striker insists no decision on his future will be made until the end of the season.

The Bayern Munich forward, 32, is enjoying a record-breaking campaign in Germany, scoring an incredible 22 goals in his first 15 games as Bayern chase yet another Bundesliga title.

Kane’s current deal with the German champions runs until 2027, but it includes a £57 million (€65m) release clause that becomes active next summer. The clause has caught the attention of several major clubs — including Barcelona, who are exploring long-term replacements for Robert Lewandowski, whose contract expires next June.

According to Sport, Barca have placed Kane on their shortlist, alongside Atlético Madrid’s Julián Álvarez, as they plan for life beyond Lewandowski. Reports claim Kane would be open to joining the Catalan side, though he intends to assess his options at the end of the current campaign.

Barcelona are said to be able to match the England captain’s current wages in Munich, but could face competition from Premier League sides offering more lucrative packages. Tottenham Hotspur, who sold Kane to Bayern in 2023, are also believed to retain a first-refusal clause and are keen on bringing their all-time top scorer back to North London.

However, speaking last month, Kane appeared to rule out an imminent Premier League return, admitting that he feels settled in Bavaria and could even extend his stay.

“In terms of staying there longer, I could definitely see that,” Kane said. “I’ve not had those conversations with Bayern yet, but if they were to arise, I’d be willing to talk and have an honest conversation.

“It depends on how the next year or so goes and what we achieve together. Right now, we’re in a fantastic moment and I’m not thinking about anything else.”

Reflecting on a possible comeback to English football, he added:

“If you’d asked me when I first left for Bayern, I’d have said for sure I’d come back. Now, after a couple of years, that’s probably gone down a bit — not completely, but I wouldn’t say never.

“I’ve learned that in football, opportunities and timing can change everything. But for now, I’m fully committed to Bayern.”

Kane’s immediate focus remains on helping Bayern maintain their dominant form, but speculation surrounding his future — and Barcelona’s growing interest — is unlikely to fade anytime soon.
