Barcelona have breathed a sigh of relief after receiving an encouraging medical update from a Belgian specialist regarding the condition of their young star Lamine Yamal, one of the club’s most valuable and promising talents.
According to Mundo Deportivo, the Catalan club sought the opinion of a top Belgian expert specializing in pubic muscle injuries (sports hernia) to ensure Yamal’s recovery was progressing correctly. The decision came after coach Hansi Flick and his staff expressed the need for a deeper medical assessment following the player’s recent discomfort.
The specialist, who has treated more than 3,000 professional athletes in similar cases, worked closely with Dr. Pruna, head of Barcelona’s medical department, to monitor Yamal’s condition and ensure the rehabilitation program was being applied perfectly.
The report confirmed that Yamal’s recovery is on the right track, with significant progress observed in his physical fitness. The Belgian doctor praised the club’s medical plan, emphasizing that early diagnosis and intensive treatment were crucial — and both were handled properly by Barcelona’s staff.
However, he also stressed that the 17-year-old must continue following the medical and training guidelines strictly to prevent any relapse.
Inside the club, there is no concern about Yamal’s condition, especially after his impressive recent performances following a disappointing display in El Clásico against Real Madrid. Still, Barcelona wanted an external opinion to strengthen confidence in their current recovery plan.
