OFFICIAL: PEDRI SUFFERS DISTAL BICEPS FEMORIS TEAR IN LEFT THIGH

Barcelona confirmed on 29 October that midfielder Pedri sustained a tear to the distal biceps femoris muscle in his left thigh during El Clásico. The club said the player’s recovery will determine when he can return, with no firm timeline announced.

Earlier reports from AS had suggested a layoff of around three weeks, but Barcelona’s statement leaves the prognosis open and dependent on how Pedri progresses in the coming days. Up to the injury, Pedri had been almost ever-present under coach Hansi Flick, missing only one match and featuring in 72 of a possible 73 fixtures. This season he started all 13 games, contributing two goals — versus Levante and Girona.

Pedri’s status will be monitored closely as the squad adapts without one of its key creative players.
